Two shows from this great American band in their prime
ListenUp co-founders Walt Stinson and Steven Weiner put their company on the map when they started engineering radio broadcasts from the legendary downtown Denver nightclub, Ebbets Field. ListenUp also went on to update the club’s sound system and give rise to the tagline “Sound by ListenUp.” The video here features audio recordings of two shows by Little Feat at Ebbets Field back on July 19, 1973…
One of the finest bands of the 1970s, singer/songwriter/slide-guitarist Lowell George formed Little Feat after a stint with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. The group released two critically lauded but commercially underwhelming albums as a quartet, with Bill Payne on keyboards and vocals, Roy Estrada on bass and Richie Hayward on drums, in addition to George. In 1972, Estrada left and the group added Kenny Gradney as his replacement on bass, along with guitarist Paul Barrere and conga player Sam Clayton. “Dixie Chicken,” perhaps Little Feat’s best known album, was released in early 1973, and the shows featured here were recorded just several months
